Rochester Public School Library Media Centers are vital and dynamic centers for learning where all students can access up-to-date, vetted, and inclusive digital and print resources that are relevant and meaningful to the diverse members of our learning community. Licensed school library media specialists and trained school library media educational support professionals seek to empower our students to become proficient, responsible, and ethical consumers of information, life-long learners, and avid readers.

Library Expectations and Acceptable Use Policy

Our Library Media Center is a place for reading, researching, studying, learning, asking questions, and seeking answers.

By choosing to use the Library Media Center, you agree to:

Be Safe

  • Sign in at the Circulation Desk when entering the Library

  • Be aware of and follow emergency procedures

Be Responsible

  • Please use space and resources for learning purposes

  • Use technology appropriately and in accordance with the district’s Acceptable Use Policy.

Be Respectful

  • Refrain from eating in the library (drinks in a closed container are acceptable).

  • Use quiet voices and take your phone calls outside of the Library

  • Above all, please be considerate of other people using the Library

Students who choose not to abide by these expectations will be issued a warning. Students who choose not to heed this warning will be asked to leave the Library Media Center. Recurring issues will be addressed by Library Media Center staff and building administration as the situation warrants.
